Tina Knowles’ new husband says they’ve all been like family for more than 30 years

Tina Knowles is showing women that love at 61 is possible. The mother of Beyoncé and Solange Knowles married actor Richard Lawson earlier this month, and looked snatched while doing it.

Knowles recently spoke with PEOPLE, revealing it was Blue Ivy’s idea the pair tie the knot. Lawson caught up with TMZ to talk about his newlywed status and blended families. Lawson has a daughter and a son (actress Bianca Lawson and Richard II).

“Man, we’ve been knowing each other for thirty-three years. We’ve been like family,” he said of the Knowles.

He also said he’s tight with his new son-in-law JAY Z’s family.

“We couldn’t be tighter. My family, their family—we’re one. It really is a blessing. I’m really grateful that it’s a united family,” Lawson said.

He also made it clear he supports JAY Z’s endeavor TIDAL that has reportedly flopped.

“Tidal! Everybody out there buy Tidal. It’s the new thing, but it’s the right thing,” Lawson explained. “Now the musicians will keep the money. The people who created the music will keep the money. That’s a beautiful thing.”

Blended families can be challenging, but in this case everyone is grown and has their own success. It’s lovely they all look at each other as family.
